An upcoming exhibition and programme of activities led by a group of graduate students from the Arts Practice: Arts, Health and Wellbeing MA, University of South Wales.
As a group of recent graduates from MA Arts Practice: Arts, Health and Wellbeing, University of South Wales we are thrilled to be sharing an invitation to our upcoming exhibition - Transitions: Connections Between Art, Health and Wellbeing.
Venue: Shift Gallery, Capitol Shopping Centre, Cardiff, CF10 2HH

Wednesday 6th December - 5:30pm - 8pm

The eclectic works and projects showcase a range of mediums, approaches, participant engagement groups and subject matter whilst being bound by the common thread of how art can serve as a vital catalyst for health and wellbeing.
The intersections of artistic expression we hope reveal and celebrate the diverse trajectories, transformations and transitions present for us as artists, within our practices and within the field of arts, health and wellbeing. We invite you to engage in this dialogue with us through the work and programme activity.
Activities Programme:
Thursday 7th December
11am - 5pm - Drop in to create ‘A Wave of Welcome’, to add to a nationwide ‘visual voice’, in solidarity with people seeking sanctuary. Facilitated by Artisan Avenue.
5pm - 6pm - Join our artist talk on therapeutic use of photographic work with Lisa Marie Mansfield
Friday 8th December
11am - 5pm - Drop in to create ‘A Wave of Welcome’, to add to a nationwide ‘visual voice’, in solidarity with people seeking sanctuary. Facilitated by Artisan Avenue.
7pm - 9pm - Come along for a drink, social and hear from our exhibiting artists in this artist talk and main open evening event
Saturday 9th December
11am - 1pm - Join in with a drop in printmaking workshop linked to relationship building in schools project with Charlotte Anstey
11am - 2pm - Visit this creative drop in session making flowers; turning discarded litter into art. This session explores the relationship between us and the environment aiding in personal growth. Eco logical by Will James
1pm - 4pm - Join this drop in mindful drawing session with Rebecca Burton
3pm - 6pm – Drop in to catch an evolving sequence of performances exploring care, place and storytelling through sound and projection with Celeste Ingrams
Sunday 10th December
11am - 3pm - Drop in to this interactive clay workshop focused on the tacit connection between the making process and processing trauma with Francis Barratt and Ruth Flanagan
3pm - 5pm - Come by for a cuppa, share your experiences and feed into our arts and health open table mapping discussion; what are your connections between arts and health and wellbeing?
The exhibition and programme activity are free to all, though we welcome donations to help cover costs.
