Mental Health & Stress Risk Assessments

Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at those who will be responsible for creating and implementing MHSRA on productions in the screen sector e.g. Producers, Line Producers, Heads of Department, Production Managers, Assistant Directors and Stage Managers. Anyone in the creative sector is welcome regardless of role.

Aim - to provide a clear understanding of MHRAs. Mental health and stress risk assessments are required by law and are increasingly a key part of any managers’/team leaders’ "best practice" toolkit to protect workers and prevent psychological stress or injury.

Objectives

This practical session provides participants with a comprehensive overview of stress and mental health risk assessments and an in-depth, practical guide to creating mental health risk assessments for a production or event.

By the end of the session participants should be able to:

Identify a broad range of stress and mental health risk factors
Recognise a range of generic risk assessments
Explain the aims of stress and mental health risk assessments
Describe the 5 management controls
Identify unique factors for the creative sector
Create a Mental Health Risk Assessment for a production
