WHAT?
Aneurin Bevan UHB Arts In Health, CAMHS and Child & Family Psychology teams are looking for artists to engage with young people and families as part of their Arts & Minds, Arts Council of Wales & Baring Foundation-funded project 2025–26, Young People’s Voices.
WHY?
We would like to establish a broad range of Artists in residence in a number of waiting spaces visited by young people (13–17 years), and their families and carers during their treatment with ABUHB.
We want to use creativity to enhance these spaces; finding playful ways to explore Young People’s Voices, their experiences and their stories.
Our Youth Participation Panel have expressed that they would like to see young people reflected in these spaces, connecting with and encouraging each other.
Artists will be required to engage with families, and to explore creativity as a means of improving both the waiting spaces and waiting process.
HOW?
Artists in residence will focus their work on regular opportunities to engage with families within the waiting spaces over a period of 6–8 months (dates and details to be agreed).
Regular engagement may result in artistic outputs that remain in the spaces.
Artists will be required to create their own response to the work, sharing key themes and observations from their residency.
