Vacancy: Most Significant Change (MSC) Coordinator
Location: Pembrokeshire (Hybrid working possible) | Start Date: Deadline: March 28th 2025
Summary:
Together for Change (TfC) is seeking a skilled and motivated Coordinator to support the collection of Most Significant Change (MSC) stories in Pembrokeshire. This is a key role in facilitating the MSC approach, ensuring that powerful personal narratives inform strategic decision-making and community-led action.
Content:
The Coordinator will work closely with the TfC Director, supporting all aspects of the MSC process, from training and story collection to coordinating panels and documentation.
The Coordinator will also work closely with colleagues in voluntary and community sector organisations, Pembrokeshire County Council, Hywel Dda University Health Board and will work alongside a range of people, including local citizens, community groups, professionals and senior managers.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver training sessions on the MSC approach for community members and stakeholders.
- Provide support and a mentor role to MSC story gatherers as and when required.
- Coordinate the collection of MSC stories, ensuring ethical and effective engagement with participants.
- Establish and facilitate MSC panels to review and analyse collected stories.
- Take notes and provide coordination support for MSC panels and related meetings.
- Work closely with the TfC Director to align MSC activities with wider organisational objectives.
- Support the synthesis and communication of MSC findings to inform decision making processes.
- Promote the MSC approach across stakeholders and partnerships and develop communication resources as required.
Person Specification
Essential skills and experience:
- Excellent people skills, with the ability to engage and support diverse community members.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, including record-keeping and scheduling.
- Knowledge of action research approaches, particularly participatory methods like MSC.
- Understanding of the role of evidence generation in strategic decision-making.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Desirable skills and experience:
- Experience in community development, storytelling, or qualitative research.
- Familiarity with Pembrokeshire’s community landscape and local organisations.
- Experience facilitating group discussions and participatory workshops.
- Ability to communicate in Welsh to either level A1 or A2* minimum.
Terms and conditions
- This role is offered on a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2026.
- The position is part-time, 1.5 days per week (0.3 FTE).
- Hybrid working arrangements may be possible, but in-person presence in
- Pembrokeshire will be required on a regular basis.
