Carers Wales know many people who we would recognise as informal carers don't always recognise themselves as such (as they are simply doing what they need for people they care about). Carer's Wales have a definition of a carer as "A carer is a person of any age who provides unpaid care and support to a family member, friend or neighbour who is disabled, has an illness or long-term condition, or who needs extra help as they grow older."
