Content:
The ‘Making digital art’ training guides teachers through various methods of using digital software to create artwork. The activities taught include pixel-art, digital mono printing, and digital landscapes. Each activity is designed to teach foundational art skills alongside a basic and effective digital technique.
During the day we will also be using Welsh heritage sites as a source of inspiration and discuss how students may be led to explore and connect with historical places of interest.
Teachers attending will need to bring whatever digital equipment that will be available for the children to use as well as any additional laptops/tablets that they might like to use. The techniques taught are not software specific, so part of the session will be finding the best method using each schools means
About the facilitator:
The session is taught by trained teacher and professional Illustrator Joshua Morgan. Joshua is currently developing an extended resource that will also be freely available through Cadw about creating digital artwork based on welsh heritage sites. Joshua is also the founder of Howling Wolf Books and an illustrative welsh resource of the name “Sketchy Welsh”.

Mae’r hyfforddiant ‘Creu celf ddigidol’ yn arwain athrawon drwy amrywiol ddulliau o ddefnyddio meddalwedd digidol i greu gwaith celf. Mae’r gweithgareddau a addysgir yn cynnwys celf picsel, argraffu mono digidol, a thirweddau digidol. Mae pob gweithgaredd wedi’i gynllunio i addysgu sgiliau celf sylfaenol ochr yn ochr â thechneg ddigidol sylfaenol ac effeithiol.
Yn ystod y dydd byddwn hefyd yn defnyddio safleoedd treftadaeth Cymru fel ffynhonnell ysbrydoliaeth ac yn trafod sut y gellir arwain myfyrwyr i archwilio a chysylltu â mannau hanesyddol o ddiddordeb.
Bydd angen i’r athrawon sy’n mynychu ddod â pha bynnag offer digidol a fydd ar gael i’r plant ei ddefnyddio yn ogystal ag unrhyw liniaduron/dyfeisiau llechen ychwanegol yr hoffent eu defnyddio. Nid yw’r technegau a addysgir yn benodol i feddalwedd, felly rhan o’r sesiwn fydd dod o hyd i’r dull gorau gan ddefnyddio’r modd sydd gan bob ysgol.
Ynglŷn â'r Cyflwynydd:
Addysgir y sesiwn gan yr athro hyfforddedig a’r Darlunydd proffesiynol Joshua Morgan. Mae Joshua ar hyn o bryd yn datblygu adnodd estynedig a fydd ar gael ac am ddim drwy Cadw yn ymwneud â chreu gwaith celf digidol yn seiliedig ar safleoedd treftadaeth Cymru. Joshua hefyd yw sylfaenydd Howling Wolf Books ac adnodd Cymreig darluniadol o’r enw “Sketchy Welsh”.
