Re-Live invites artists, health and social care professionals, researchers and anyone interested in arts and health to the free online launch of Here & Now - a new life story comic co-created with people living with dementia and family members in Wales and Japan.

Over the past year, people living with dementia and family members have worked alongside comic and manga artists to transform their experiences into visual stories exploring the complexity of life with dementia,  including identity, relationships, caring, loss, humour, love and connection.

At this one-hour launch, we’ll open up the pages of Here & Now and hear directly from the people at the heart of its stories. We’ll meet comic and manga artists from Wales and Japan, see some of the artwork, and hear from Dr Yukimi Uchide, Re-Live’s partner in Japan and an innovator in creative dementia care.

Re-Live will also share what we have learned from people living with dementia and their families about the role creativity can play when life is full of waiting — offering movement through imagination and ways to explore and express changing experiences.

Copies of the comic will be available in English and Welsh for artists, organisations, professionals, families and communities.

Monday 28 September 2026 · 10am–11am UK · Online · Free
