Are you a freelance project evaluator who specialises or has experience using Most Significant Change? We need you for evaluation of our Breathing Space Ignite project for improved wellbeing through arts and creativity. We are looking for a freelance project evaluator who has experience with or a solid understanding of the Most Significant Change evaluation model. Tanio’s Breathing Space Ignite project (funded through Arts Council Wales and in partnership with Awen Cultural Trust, Mental Health Matters Wales, and CTMUHB) is a dynamic project that uses participant-informed creative and artistic activities to improve participants’ mental health and overall wellbeing, while reducing isolation and loneliness and empowering people in their own voices. Breathing Space Ignite takes place weekly at 7 locations across the health board, and each location works in different artistic mediums to achieve positive outcomes for service users. The creative activities undertaken at each location are largely guided by the input of the participants, so that they are taking part in activities that resonate with them. Tanio need your help in evaluating the project using the Most Significant Change model, as we know about its benefits and it aligns with our person-centred values, but we have not employed it as an evaluation method before. Your expertise and close working with us will ensure that the evaluation is robust and gives Tanio insights and tools into using Most Significant Change moving forward. Nature of Engagement: Freelance (self-employed) contract Fee: £4000 (inclusive of VAT) Fee is inclusive of all travel, visiting Breathing Space Ignite groups in Bettws, Bryngarw Country Park, central Bridgend, Maesteg, Nantymoel, Pontypridd, and Porthcawl For this fee amount, we expect: • Attend each Breathing Space Ignite location (7 locations) at least once • Assist participants in writing their Most Significant Change story • Host a sharing event with stakeholders to evaluate the collected stories and identify the stories which reflect the most significant change • Deliver a report on the Most Significant Change stories, the outputs and outcomes, and the process; the report should reflect collaboration with Tanio that helps Tanio to understand and discover how Most Significant Change aligns with our work and its usefulness for the future The successful candidate will: • Hold a valid DBS or be willing to undertake one • Have an understanding of the arts for the benefit of health and wellbeing, in community or healthcare settings, which do not fall under arts therapy • Be open to collaboration, and be empathetic, whilst maintaining a high standard of professionalism • Comply with Tanio’s Health and Safety Policy and statutory regulations, including all aspects of GDPR and data collection • Have a track record in dynamic project evaluation, and a solid understanding or experience in the Most Significant Change model Contract Length (exact dates to be determined with successful candidate): • Visits to Breathing Space Ignite groups: mid-April – mid-July 2025 • Stakeholder sharing and evaluation event: August 2025 • Report due: end September 2025 What to do if you are interested? Please send a cover letter (no more than 500 words) detailing your suitability for the position, with specific details of how you have used Most Significant Change or your understanding of the model. Please also include a separate example of an evaluation you’ve done. Submit to helo@taniocymru.com We are also happy to accept other forms of introduction, such as video or audio (max 5 mins long). Application deadline is Friday 21st March 2025 at midday. We will reply to all enquiries.
