About this event

There is limited public awareness of the risk factors that contribute to dementia, despite growing evidence that around 45% of cases are linked to modifiable factors such as hearing loss, smoking, inactivity, and cardiovascular health. Prevention is both possible and powerful. Targeted outreach is needed for diverse communities, while addressing stigma and fear around diagnosis. Although dementia is one of our greatest health challenges, it remains low on the public agenda—underscoring the need for urgent, equitable, and prevention-focused action across the system.
