The Art For Wellbeing Certificate course is a self-paced, online course in how to use art to boost wellbeing and mental health. It uses a method called Paint Your Mind, developed during a project funded by an Arts Council England Developing Your Creative Practice grant. This highlights five building blocks, all equally important. Together they explore how to use art to root us in life, to ground us when we struggle, to express how we feel, to absorb us in the moment, and to connect us in community. To sign up (£25) go to https://medley.live/paint-your-mind The course begins with an introductory unit, exploring how and why art is so beneficial. Each of the five units which follow focus a different building block in turn, with an overview of that approach, questions to consider, suggestions of flexible ideas to use in practice, and two art activity ideas with example images. The Art For Wellbeing Certificate course is aimed at: counsellors therapists wellbeing practitioners life coaches creative health practitioners mental health workers activity providers holistic or complementary therapists artists art teachers art students community group leaders or volunteers interested individuals It is suitable whether you want to start using art for wellbeing in your work or already do so but would like to explore different possibilities. The course should take around 9 hours at the most to complete. On completion of a short online test questionnaire at the end of the course you will receive a digital certificate.
