A&B Cymru Opportunity

Summary:

As a valued Arts Member, you are invited to submit a proposal to devise and deliver a project for one of A&B Cymru’s Business Members.

Content:

Cartrefi Conwy wishes to commission an engaging new theatre project to raise awareness among children and their families about the dangers of fly-tipping. The project will be delivered for three schools (2 Primary and 1 Secondary School) close to the Tre Cwm Estate in Llandudno.

Key dangers to highlight are:

· Health Risks – spreads disease and exposes people to hazardous waste.

· Safety Hazards – causes injuries and obstructs roads or pathways.

· Environmental Damage – pollutes land and harms wildlife.

· Community Impact – creates eyesores, encourages more crime and lowers community pride.

· Mental Health – causes stress, anxiety and a reduced sense of safety and wellbeing, especially for children

The successful arts organisation will collaborate with agencies such as the Police to create a project which achieves the following key objectives for Cartrefi Conwy:

· Deter people from engaging in fly-tipping and other antisocial behaviours

· Encourage green recycling and responsible waste disposal.

· Create a positive, clean environment for everyone to enjoy.

· Inspire young people to have pride in, respect for and ownership of their community.

 

The project must be bilingual (Welsh and English). Cartrefi Conwy is keen to explore ways of creating a digital legacy, such as a short film or digital resource that extends the project’s impact beyond delivery. It could also include a follow-up activity a year later to give the children an opportunity to reflect on what has changed, what they’ve noticed and how it makes them feel.

Activities should take place in Spring 2026. Cartrefi Conwy has allocated a budget of up to £8K for the project. An application for up to an additional £4K could be made to CultureStep to strengthen and extend the partnership.
