Congratulations to Forget Me Not Chorus and Cardiff and Vale Health Charity - A&B Cymru awards winners!
The 29th Arts & Business Cymru Awards 2024 took place at ICC Wales on Thursday 4th July and the black-tie ceremony revealed the winners of ten prestigious awards. Well-known personalities including Grammy Award-winning Soprano Rebecca Evans and Olympic athlete and broadcaster Colin Jackson, took to the stage to present the winners with their trophies.
The evening ended on a real high note as Forget-me-not Chorus were awarded the inaugural Nicola Heywood Thomas Prize for the Arts: a very special prize named in honour of a true champion of the arts, and friend of Forget-me-not Chorus.
Rachel Jones CEO of Arts & Business Cymru said “Through all her work, Nicola strived to make the arts truly accessible to all, using her extensive knowledge and expertise to inspire and inform. It is only fitting, therefore, that we introduce this special prize which recognises an arts organisation which changes lives through its work.”
Alongside this, Cardiff and Vale Health Charity, Forget-me-not Chorus, Motion Control Dance and Rubicon Dance scooped this years Arts, Business and Health Award for enriching the lives of patients, staff and community members through the Arts. Forget-me-not chorus brings joy to the lives of people living with or alongside Dementia. A partnership with Motion Control Dance offered a creative opportunity to enhance the wellbeing of both patients and staff through movement workshops at Llandough and Barry Hospitals. Rubicon Dance addressed low mood, isolation and inactivity within patients across a Cardiff and Vale UHB hospitals.
And once again, congratulations to Cardiff and Vale Health Charity for winning the 'Sony Business of the Year' award! A deserving award after a busy, successful and innovative year for the organisation.
