Live Music Now Lullaby Project Webinar

Join us online to hear about a trailblazing programme, The Lullaby Project, delivered in partnership with Swansea Bay University Health Board with support from Operasonic at the Tonna Mother and Baby Unit and in two community settings in Port Talbot and Gwaun Cae Gurwen.  The Lullaby Project pairs mothers with professional musicians to work together over a series of workshops to create their own unique lullaby, which is then professionally recorded and performed live at a celebratory event.

Our project evaluator Kerry Wilson, Head of Research at the Institute of Cultural Capital at Liverpool John Moores University will share her research findings from the pilot projects, highlighting important outcomes. You will also hear from health workers and musicians who supported the participants.

The Lullaby Project was originally developed by Carnegie Hall in New York and is underpinned by 10 years of research which demonstrates the positive impact the project has on maternal health, childhood development and family bonding. With funding from Arts Council Wales, Live Music Now has successfully adapted the model for project delivery with NHS and community partners. We are now in a position to roll out the Lullaby Project as a successful perinatal support and engagement model, working with more health boards and NHS partners to co-produce projects.
