Introduction
About the project
This Creative Health Impact Framework was commissioned by London Plus and funded by The Greater London Authority. The Framework was developed by Creative Health Consultant Jane Willis in collaboration with Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE), arts, cultural, and health partners from across South East London.
Where we began
We launched this project in September 2024. We felt it was important to develop a robust Framework, in response to an identified need to support VCSE, arts, and cultural organisations to better evidence and communicate the value and impact of their work in relation to health inequalities and health improvement. This need was initially identified in relation to the South East London Integrated Care System (ICS), but it’s use can be applied across all ICSs.
This pilot project brought together arts and VCSE organisations in South East London with health partners from the South East London NHS Integrated Care System (ICS). Phase 1 of the project involved desktop research by Civil Society Consulting. We then moved on to engaging with stakeholders, led by creative health consultant Jane Willis.
Where we are now
The result of this work is a Creative Health Impact Framework: a series of tools designed to support arts, cultural, and VCSE organisations to understand, evidence, and communicate the impact of their work in relation to inequalities and health improvement in a way that aligns with health priorities and makes sense to health partners.
