Introduction

Two Rhythms is a creative and therapeutic arts charity which delivers sessions to adults and children with learning disabilities, and additional learning needs through the mediums of; dance, music and relaxation techniques. A recent 'GOV UK' article addressing 'Disability, loneliness and relationships' stated that 'disabled people’s preferences for socialising and relationships are not based on sharing common interests, but on their environment, the communities and spaces they can access' and a statistical review carried out by Mencap concluded that 77% of disabled people (aged 17-34) felt lonely. 'Two Rhythms' aims to facilitate a calm environment for those with learning disabilities, and to encourage self-expression and connection through the use of music, movement and touch. Two Rhythms is a charity arts organisation delivering creative therapeutic sessions to those who face barriers to accessing creativity. The work that creative facilitators carry out is ongoing.
