About the lecture
Drawing on 30 years of experience in the arts as a curator, project manager, and researcher Dr Tracy Simpson explores how creative practice can help us address some of today’s biggest challenges, from sustainability and wellbeing to community resilience. Case studies from Wales illustrate the role of the arts as environmental and social inquiry, asking how creativity can move beyond engagement to become part of how we understand and respond to complex issues. The lecture also questions a growing focus on evaluation: are we measuring everything while losing sight of what truly matters, and how might the arts help us rediscover value?
